Body Tax is back! at Old Bar on 8th of August to launch their new single, ‘Infused and Confused’.

“I'm perfectly incapable of making myself loud and proud” sums up the song perfectly. It's about the disorientating reality of telling someone you're fine while you're truly screaming internally. Blending anxious tension with abrasive guitars and uneasy rhythms, Infused and Confused drags hidden emotions into the open.

Body Taxes bring their emotionally charged live show that thrives on vulnerability, noise, and the uncomfortable moments most of us try to hide.

Funkytown Fish is a punk/indie rock foursome bringing the riot grrel movement of the 90s into the 21st century. The band dives into politics, gender, sexuality and life as a fem-presenting person with killer breakdowns and high energy instrumentals. Funkytown Fish exude raw energy, unadulterated rage and will not be ignored.

The Inspector is a band from Saigon and Melbourne. With a fusion of diverse cultures, The Inspector have a unique sounds, extremely infectious catchy songs but also combines them with energetic psychedelic and noisy performances. Emotional song writing at max volume and a constant state of beautiful ear worm melodies.

WAPPERIN — AUSTRALIAN TOUR 2026

Nagoya’s extreme new-wave mavericks WAPPERIN return to Australia this August for a limited run of explosive live shows.

Driven by the pounding drums of Hiroshi Hasegawa and the wild vocals and twisted keyboards of FUJIN (Hiroka Hasegawa), WAPPERIN collide jagged synths, unpredictable rhythms and off-kilter pop melodies with the raw energy of Japan’s underground music scene. Strange, playful and relentlessly physical, their performances transform the stage into a whirlwind of sound, movement and controlled chaos.

Following their successful first Australian visit in 2025, WAPPERIN return for a handful of intimate shows across Victoria. Expect pounding beats, warped electronics and an unforgettable performance from one of Nagoya’s most distinctive underground acts.

Supermodels are back!

Following a short break after the release of their well-received album SUPERMODERN in February, the band realised they were sitting on 5 unreleased tracks from those recording sessions that definitely deserve to see the light of day. The resulting 8-song EP, set for digital release on August 14, shall be titled EXTRAMODERN, and also includes 3 live tracks of the mods at their ferocious gigging best! To celebrate the band is hitting the Old Bar with friends Violet and Chelsea Hotel. BE THERE OR BE DISAPPOINTED (the only 2 options xx).

Thin Skin, out Friday 8th August via BDK Records, is the sophomore EP of Naarm-based alternative rock band, Back Pocket.

The EP marks the beginning of a new synthesiser-led chapter for the band, in an evolution that leans deeper into their new wave influences, while remaining true to the group’s trademark dolewave-meets-riot grrrl sound.

Back Pocket will launch the EP on Friday 28th August at the Old Bar playing alongside the Genevieves (SA), who are also celebrating the release of their latest single, ‘Sprinkler,’ which explores the catharsis in processing life and loss through our relationships with dogs; how grieving a strong, yet short-lived bond reminds us of our own mortality and how all relationships will ultimately reach a conclusion. 

Supporting the pair of powerhouses will be local stars Equestrian Fields."

With his guitar in hand, and a little help from his friends, a suite of jangly bedroom rock numbers are ready to be let loose. Justin's latest full length album 'Dive', is set for release very soon and to celebrate he'll be playing all the new tunes at good ol' Old Bar. The show will be with his full band as well as shows from very special guests Postures and Mho (Canmaster Smash).
