THE HUMANE METHOD + EXIT MUSIC + DARREN GIBSON
Hailing from Melbourne’s Northwest but assembled from previous bands as far as London, this new, if seasoned meeting of the minds, macabrely named The Humane Method, is armed and ready to rouse all in their wake.
As atmospheric and melancholy, as it is angular and abrasive, The Humane Method’s debut EP Reconcile In Colour saw a crown achievement for four old friends who brought their individual know-how deep into the thinktank, but this was only a taster for their majestic debut album where each trait has been heightened to striking effect. Recorded at Soundpark studios with resident wizard and consummate professional ‘Idge’, the album, Paint in Green, is the result of 18 months of vigorous and meticulous song writing, fine tuning and playing until fingertips bled, proving with each listen that there’s a method to their madness.
Wearing influences that range from Sigor Ros, Tool and Manchester Orchestra to AC/DC and Something For Kate firmly on their sleeve, the result is a cohesive and unique shoegaze-come-rock-rooted juggernaut set to seize all who witness The Humane Method.
The band are currently working on their second album, due early 2027.

Clown are an upcoming rock band taking inspiration from grunge, punk, and hard rock, and we’re super excited to share this song with you all.

Emerging from a shared love of extreme metal and distorted club electronics, JR Brennan and Sam Dowson bring their unhinged hybrid metal to The Old Bar for a one-off performance to launch their debut album. Recorded across Australia, Guatemala and Mexico with co-producer Aaron Cupples (The Drones, Spiritualized), the album arrives after a year of radio play, festival acclaim and underground buzz. A Thriving Sky explores the hidden ecology of beauty, where desire, violence and dependence are constantly at war. Live, Axon Breeze pushes at the edges of heavy music - intense bursts of post-punk and hyperpop bridged with unholy drawn-out passages of doom. Their world is organised around an inverted gothic: softness where you expect armour, sensuality where you expect force. If you've ever wanted to collapse the mosh pit and the dancefloor, this is your night.

If you’ve been to Old Bar this past year chances are you’ve seen Mondo Cane play. Somewhere between shoegaze, punk rock and trip hop, their sound defies convention and they like it that way. Celebrating their debut EP ‘The Fever,’ they thought they would run it back on their favourite sticky dance floor. Joining them are the hypnotic ‘Greeble’ and Celtic punk newcomers ‘The Rough Enoughs’.

TDS play their last Melbourne show for 2026. Anticipating their debut release in 2027, LP ‘Future Mothers’ is a sweetly homespun and exquisitely produced psychedelic-folk record about the minutiae of life and the relationships that keep it on the rails.
Turn Down Service is the debut solo project turned five-piece band from Melbourne musician Raphael Hammond. Having done time in 2000s art-pop quintet Hot Little Hands, before pivoting to brass and bandleader for the jazz-inflected The Royal Jellies, Hammond is well-versed in conjuring inspiration from odd sources.

Bone Reaper from Adelaide are heading down to bring us their finest and fastest thrash, Mammon's Throne will show us their masterclass of riffs, be hazed by the ferocious fuzz of Queen Hyena, bludgeoned by the death metal of Circle of Blood and hypnotised by the folk doom of Mira's.
