“Pariah Feminine”

This group show features artists who have come together using photography, painting, portraiture, taxidermy, floristry and ceramics to explore feminine without boundaries. It rebels against and rejects the passive subordinate scripts of femininity that are traditionally afforded to us. Instead, the Pariah Feminine embraces unapologetic sexuality, anger, mysticism, subversion and nature. The Pariah Feminine is feminine on our own terms.

This show has been carefully curated by Bianca Johnston and is over a year in the making after many set backs due to the rona coaster.

The Old Bar Gallery acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and to the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which The Old Bar resides. The gallery pays its respect to Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledges that sovereignty has never been ceded.
