Combining forces across two special nights at Naarm’s legendary Old Bar, EGGY and Bad Bangs are teaming up to celebrate their latest releases with double surprise launch shows.
Running hot off their latest single 'Contest', Bad Bangs are back - offering a second course with forthcoming single 'Sympathy'. The oddball, angular pop track Sympathy humours the retrospect and delusion around a mild flirtation. Tongue in cheek lyrics and jarring rhythm makes for an unexpected turn on Bad Bangs rollicking train of garage rock. Toot toot next stop the Old Bar - all aboard
Kicking into a new cinematic gear, EGGY have just shared ‘Open Field’.
Written and intended as a three part odyssey, these seven minutes and fifty one seconds traverse through the sounds of a band who keep conviction as their touchstone. Taking notes from the Düsseldorf and Berlin schools of the 70’s, these drifting melodies and mechanistic rhythms hold court alongside the climactic intensity of a group forged by the 00’s New York underground.
Self-releasing and distributing the track across a limited 7”, Open Field will be available for purchase at these shows.
Two nights, two bands, one (old) bar. Unmissable.
Tickets are $10 for the first 24 hrs, then $15, then $20 on the door.
