Esther Rivers launches her long-coming solo EP 'Heretic' at Old Bar June 15th. Written on the rooftops of Morocco and tracked in the heart of Melbourne, Esther's sound is a combination of simmering darkness and heartfelt gusto, in the vein of Janis Joplin, Patti Smith and Melanie Safka. 

Recorded with Stephen Mowat (WILSN/Ali B) at The Aviary with some of Melbourne's finest, Heretic will be played live in a rare performance to celebrate its release on vinyl. Transported by Rivers' songs, we find ourselves smoking in the caverns of old Paris nightclubs, or wandering the Chelsea Hotel. As much a sultry chantreuse as a punk poet, Rivers' voice is an offering.
