Brisbane garage rock group Eyes Ninety are launching their new album Neon Brown on Saturday September 14th at The Old Bar in Fitzroy, ably supported by Digger & The Pussycats, The Misanthropes and Salmon Sisters.
Neon Brown was captured through a mix of studio sessions and direct to reel-to-reel tape in the band's practice room. This approach means that (more than ever) anything goes; songs range from stuttering garage surf-rock to high-energy New Wave-ish romps to the 6min Circle meets Jon Hassell finale 'The Duchess'. Wonky synth interludes were captured as they were jammed out for your pleasure.
Taking historical cues from countrymen Scientists, Lubricated Goat, feedtime et al. with a sprinkling of NZ's Gordons and Clean, plus the heads-down mantric rock of Endless Boogie, the result is the best-yet representation of their savage live headkick.
Neon Brown follows previous albums Glaucoma Chameleon (2018) and their self-titled debut (2015), all released by Brisbane label Swashbuckling Hobo.
.
Neon Brown is released on vinyl and digitally on August 2nd 2024.
