Hailing from Melbourne, BADGERS are gearing up for a strong 2023, crafting their own special brand of psychedelia. Comprising of Michael Badger who has produced the likes of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Amyl and the Sniffers and SONS, Eloise Thetford who is the artist behind Queenie hot off the stage of Boogie Festival and the APRA awards, and Dali Platt who as a DJ has most recently opened the main stage at Ultra Australia, they have each pursued successful solo careers but their passion for creating and playing music together has kept them on track to continue releasing and gigging.
Their unique sound and powerful live performances have earned them a loyal following locally and beyond. This has led to their signing with UK-based psychedelic label Strong Island Recordings, who has seen the release of four successful singles to date, each receiving extensive local radio play as well as Triple J play.
In May, BADGERS begin their month-long residency at one of Melbourne’s most iconic local live music institution The Old Bar. This will see them curate the Sunday night line up over the course of four Sunday nights, showcasing their fuzz-laden sound and introducing audiences to other exciting local acts. The residency will serve as a launchpad for their debut album set to be released later this year.
With their undeniable talent for producing memorable fuzz-laden, riff-heavy psych songs, BADGERS are definitely one to watch.
