Against the unfolding cruelty of a world gone wrong FRANCIS GLASS BAND have drawn the tears, moved the feet and raised the fists of broken-hearted audiences wherever they can. Drawing on diverse influences – from Patti Smith and the Gun Club to Tropicalia protest songs and EVH - they have a proven ability to move from the raucous to the heartwrenching in a matter of seconds.
PYREX was formed by Arian Lane (Drowsy Maggies, Honey Hunter) and Jordan Hicks (Contrast, Bench Press, Skyscraper Stan and the Commission Flats) on Wadawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung land, and lay their roots in Lane’s singing and songwriting which takes shape from a love of classic folk, psychedelia, shoegaze and 90’s era music. Having only a short career to-date, the band have shared stages with Children Collide, Zoe Fox and Archer - to name just a few. Their debut single 'I Want Love' received praise and play on community radio Australia wide, with a second single and debut EP due in the not too distant future."
A whirlwind of catchy indie pop melodies, clever lyrics, and punk energy, CYCLONE MAVIS have arrived and are ready to make a mess — or at least get a song stuck in your head. Their energetic performances come with a whiplash warning - a sunny bop about watching Fast and the Furious 8 could easily be followed by a thunderous punk belter about not wanting to be someone’s manic pixie dream girl. The band released their latest single, feminist anthem Wisteria Hysteria earlier in the year.
DEMO DISK the recording project of Tim Palstra (Purr Usual, Gena Rose Bruce, Ghost Bumps) that finds its foundation in a nostalgic affection for 90s inspired rock music and early 2000s video game aesthetics. The live band consists of close friends Max Karklins (Purr Usual, Gena Rose Bruce), Gabe Strachan (Purr Usual), Zoe Jenner (Elaura) and Ruby Moxey-Fithall (Clear Tears, Elaura, Cantrips). Demo Disk are set to close out 2022 with a string of singles ahead of the release of their debut album in early 2023.
