Friday 6th of October
at The Old Bar – 74-76 Johnston St, Fitzroy
FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY!!
JOHNNY CASINO AND THE SECRETS
For the first time in more than 8years!!
The ̈ramblin ́gamblin ́man ̈ Johnny Casino returns for one show only!
With his trusty side kicks Cris Wilson on Drums and Michael Evans on Bass, Lil ́JC has been living and loving on the east coast of Spain for the last 8 years without making his way back down to the great southern land, so this is a rare as hen ́s teeth chance that you ́d be mad to miss!!
Since leaving our shores our man with a plan has not been idle!! Releasing the albums ̈Time and time again ̈ in 2017, ̈Trade Winds ̈ in 2018 and ̈Vibrations, yours and mine ̈ in 2020, as well as the singles ̈Twenty Twenty ̈ recorded in Philadelphia in March 2020 during the first lockdown of the pandemic, and the single ̈Heart full of soul ̈ in 2021.
In 2022 lil ́JC released a singles boxset called ̈5×7 the days of wine and cola ̈ which included 5 7inch singles and a bonus CD, and as we speak he is putting the finishing touches to a new album in the city of brotherly love Philadelphia PA which is set for release in
the new year. Johnny don ́t play his cards close to his chest, in fact he wears em on his sleeves and what you see and hear is what you get!! at times raw but always soulful, dangerous and always invigorating rock ́n ́roll music that will put the rocket in ya pocket and the dance in your pants.
Johnny, Mick and Cris will be joined on the night by very special guests:
THE SIMON JULIFF BAND
Simon Juliff (formerly of The Roys) is a long time associate of Melbourne bands GOD, Hoss, & Powder
Monkeys. His new band features Joel Silbersher and Jim Sfetsos (HOSS) and Greg Bainbridge (Kim
Salmon & the Surrealists)
Their live set showcases songs from their new album, STARS, combining brightly dappled glimmers of classic pop-rock melodicism with a darkened, frazzled vibe, and guitars that crunch and spangle.
ROCKIN PELMETS
Rockin' Pelmets are Melbourne's newest frat rockin', garage punkin', stroll'n'rollin' phenoms featuring Go Go Sapien's, Tyrannamen and Swedish Magazines.
