Mundane Mondays and Kaiju present: Garage Sale and Blue Vedder
Before embarking on their east coast tour, Grage Sale and Blue Vedder with be gracing the Old Bar stage.
Piecing together the slower parts of their childhood, Garage Sale are rebirthing some of their favourite moments from hidden gems the 90s/early 00s alternative scenes provided.
Spending the better part of 2020/21 inside, the band's upcoming debut LP "Shimmer" riffs on the spacey, slower moments they faced together. Produced with the help of Calum Newton (Candy Moore, Lunatics on Pogosticks) and mastered by Corey Coffman (Gleemer, Milly, waveform*), the album highlights their use of contrasted fuzzes, interlocking guitar parts, soft-spoken harmonies and unique soundscapes, drawing them close to artists like Swirlies, Ovlov, Swervedriver or Duster
Based in Naarm (Melbourne), Blue Vedder is the gateway to an ambient trance inspired by the likes of 90's shoegaze, alternative and dream-pop, with notes taken from artists including my bloody valentine, Slowdive, Radiohead, DIIV and The Smashing Pumpkins. The four-piece band are now taking this sound and presenting it in live form, a visceral experience loaded with dynamic fuzz-guitar and copious amounts of reverb, vocal harmonies and atmospheres.
Slacker Fitz is the moniker of Marci, self-described as Silly clown music by a clown with no jokes, Slacker Fitz is an embodiment of 90’s alt-rock and its modern resurgence.
