Patrick Wilson launching his sophomore album ‘It’ll Be Alright’ and Meghan Maike launching her debut opus ‘Dead Horse Creek’. When he’s not driving the backbeat or serving six string duties for some of Melbourne’s best alt-country ensembles, drummer and multi-instrumentalist Patrick Wilson is busy crafting his own brand of authentic electrified country rock ‘n’ roll. On his debut long-playing release, the deep feeling writer steps into the spotlight with a collection of tunes that showcase his sweet tenor and keen songcraft. Wilson’s advanced ear for melody, his understanding of the heritage of the country inspired form and his access to players that bring an authentic and deft swagger to the material are the foundations to this impressive and assured debut release.

Meghan Maike’s debut album with Cheersquad Records & Tapes has arrived! Dead Horse Creek has taken its sweet time, and traveled some distance, to become fully realised. The songs grew in the vastness of the Mississippi delta, were recorded in Ventura, California, and Maike is set to present them to the Melbourne stage at Old Bar for the album launch - with a full stellar band! Maike is joined by Mark McCartney on guitar, Matthew Cotter on drums, Nicholas Pollock on keys, and Drew Parsons on bass. Born into folk and honed in country, Maike’s influences (from the greats; Emmylou, Gram, Neil, Lucinda, to indie heroes, The Sadies) spurred her to process the world through songwriting. Sights, sounds, places, experiences, textures, and seasons, find their way to the page…and now, to the stage.
