dogworld, namely Ella Tinney, Jesse Dowley, Max Sturm and Yasmine Hosseini, play a cosmic blend of dream pop, postpunk, and indie rock. The four-piece have made waves in Canberra since forming in early 2021, with their trademark raw, energetic performance style encasing an inimitable sonic intricacy.

Though dogworld is a fairly new brainchild, Ella, Jesse, Max and Yasmine are all experienced and established musicians. They hail from backgrounds of heavy involvement with music in their academic histories, as well as their community involvement. While they come from all corners of Australia, the four-piece have also made a strong mark on the Canberra music community. They have been involved in performing and producing a range of local music, including electronic and jazz, as well as instructing Canberra’s future musicians at Girls Rock! and the Bec Taylor School of Music. The band are well-acquainted with respected local musicians, venue owners, and gig organisers, demonstrating their commitment to and passion for music wherever they go.

Boasting numerous sold-out shows, and a fast-growing diehard fanbase, dogworld has cemented itself as a prominent live act in the space of mere months. They have supported notable music groups, such as Moaning Lisa, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, and Hachiku, as well as holding regular headline shows. The band is currently busy putting their melodic and distinctive tunes to wax, with an upcoming release planned for 2022. They will certainly be one to watch in the coming years.
