“Fake antiquities, false hope (devices for translating ancient feelings I don’t understand)”
A new exhibition opening August 2 by artist Emily Gallagher
Emily Gallagher uses sculpture and multi media to allow viewers to follow her artistic journey as she
navigates many unanswered questions.
“Messing up the rites of passage, objects and rituals for initiation maybe I have to create my own
fictional solidarity
uncover, decode
tangible evidence
surely there was someone from all of ancient history that felt how I do?”
“I think I’m hoping for a kind of pathos exchange between the viewers, the physicality of the work
and fragments of myself reflected in the work. Maybe it moves around between all of these in every
combination, back and forth and some of it remains, absorbed in each object/being?”
Joining Emily on opening night are psychedelic rock trio Heavy Amber and Special Guest TBA!
Doors at 7pm
Bands from 8:30
$15 entry fee to support local musicians
This event is sponsored by our friends and supporters of the arts, @Bodriggy Brewing
